Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic took the world off guard. In Mexico, as in many other parts of the world, millions of students switched from the classroom to distance learning from one day to the other. In this paper are presented results form a survey applied to Mexican university professors and students, aimed to understand their adaptation and their involvement in the technologies to support online education. On hundred and eighty-seven teachers and 1297 students from diverse parts of the Mexican republic participated. Main results indicated that, the users’ attitude towards the future use and learning of the technologies, is influenced by the technology sustainability perceived as a result of its innovation in contrast with its preservation. Other results show that, even they have been adapted to the technology, they miss classrooms.
